PRIVACY POLICY

 

This Privacy Policy was last updated on May 5, 2025.

Coyle and Dincans respects your privacy and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”). This Privacy Policy explains the type of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you access and use the Slango App (the “Slango App”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. This Privacy Policy supplements and is governed by our Terms of Use (the “Terms of Use”). Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy are defined in our Term of Use. 

 

This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect in the Slango App, and in email, text, and other electronic communications sent through or connection with the Slango App. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by us offline or through other means, including on websites operated by third parties or through applications, content, or advertisements of third parties that may link to or be accessible through the Slango App.

 

Our goal is to provide a Privacy Policy that is transparent in how we handle your information. Before you provide us with any information, including Personal Information (as defined in Section 1 below), you should read through this Privacy Policy in its entirety and understand its terms. By using or accessing the Slango App, you signify that you have read, understand, and agree to the bound by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in accordance with Section 13 below, so please check in periodically. The updates to this Privacy Policy shall be legally effective and binding as of the “last updated on” date above.

1.         WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION

When you create an account on the Slango App, you may be asked to provide us with certain information about yourself which is “personally identifiable information.” When we use the term “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could be linked, directly or indirectly, to a person or household. It does not include aggregated or de-identified information that is maintained in a form that is not reasonably capable of being associated with or linked to a person or household. Some examples of Personal Information are your first and last name, email address, and telephone number. It is your choice whether to provide us with Personal Information and the provision of such Personal Information is not required when using certain aspects of the Slango App. However, if you provide us with your Personal Information, we may store and use that Personal Information as provided under this Privacy Policy.

2.         INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

Information You Provide to Us

When you access and use the Slango App, such as when you install the Slango App or create an account,   we may ask you to provide certain Personal Information, as well as information that is about you but individually does not identify you. This information may include:

  • Information that you provide when accessing and using the Slango App, such as at the time of creating an account, enrolling in one of our subscription plans, posting user generated content, and requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Slango App.

  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.

  • Details of transactions you carry out through the Slango App and of the fulfillment of such transactions. You may be required to provide financial information before placing an order through the Slango App.

We may also collect feedback, testimonials, and ratings related to the Slango App. We use this information internally for communication, market research, marketing and advertising, and to enhance our business. By submitting feedback, you grant us the right to post and publish it at our sole discretion. We may also share your name or account username along with your testimonial. If you choose to submit such information to us, the information you submit may be available generally to the public. Please be aware that information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of third parties with whom you may choose to share your feedback, testimonials, and ratings. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your feedback, testimonials, and ratings will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

You may also provide User Generated Content on public areas of the Slango App. Your User Generated Content is posted and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. 

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and access the Slango App, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information, including:

  • Usage Details. We may collect certain details of your use such as, traffic data, location data, communication data, and the resources that you access and use on or through the Slango App. 

  • Device Information. We may collect information about the tablet and/or mobile device you use to engage with the Slango App, including such device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating systems, browser type, mobile network information, internet provider, and the device’s telephone number.

  • Location Information. We may collect general real-time information about the geolocation of your electronicdevice. 

  • Commercial Information. We may collect information about the subscription you are enrolled in.

The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:

  • Cookies (or mobile cookies): A cookie is a small file placed on your electronic device. It may be possible to refuse to accept mobile cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your electronic device. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain aspects of the Slango App.

  • Web Beacons: The Slango App may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related statistics and metrics.

If you do not want us to collect this information, do not download the Slango App or delete it from your device. 

In addition, we may infer new details—such as your likely preferences or characteristics—by analyzing the data we collect, including through automated methods. These technologies may also be used to track your online activity over time and across third-party websites or services (commonly known as behavioral tracking). 3.         HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We may use the information, including Personal Information, we collect for the following operational business and commercial purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, update and optimize the Slango App.

  • To provide you with news and other general information about the Slango App.

  • To notify you about changes to the Slango App.

  • To attend and manage any of your requests or questions to us. 

  • To gather data and work with third party service providers to show you personalized ads.

  • To share with third party service providers who monitor and analyze your use of the Slango App.  

  • For other purposes, consistent with federal, state and local laws that may be available to you, such as location information, computer and connection information, IP address data, and timestamps.

  • To notify you about changes to your monthly subscription.

  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights. 

  • To detect, investigate, and prevent harmful activities that may violate our Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, or otherwise be illegal. 

  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • To prevent fraud and protect the rights and interests of our users.

  • To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide.

4.         OUR DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO OTHERS

In addition, we may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:

  • To our subsidiaries and affiliates.

  • To contractors, service providers (including payment processors), and other third parties we use to support our business.

  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Coyle and Dincans assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Coyle and Dincans about our users is among the assets transferred.

  • To third parties to market their products or services to you if you have consented to these disclosures. 

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. 

  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.

  • With your consent.

Please note that we do not currently sell the information, including Personal Information, that we collect. 

Disclosure For Legal Purposes. We may also disclose your information when it is required by the law or in connection with legal processes as follows:

  • Law Enforcement. We may report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that we reasonably believe may aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity. In addition, we reserve the right to release your information, including Personal Information, to law enforcement agencies if we determine, in our sole judgment, that either you have violated our policies, or the release of your information may protect the rights, property, or safety of us or another person. 

  • Legal Process. We may share your information, including Personal Information, with others as required by, or permitted by, law. This may include sharing your information with government entities, or third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, other legal process, or as we believe is necessary to exercise our legal rights, to defend against legal claims that have been brought against us, or to defend against possible legal claims that we determine in our sole discretion might be brought against us.

5.         THIRD PARTY DATA COLLECTION AND ONLINE ADVERTISING

We may collaborate with various third-party partners for advertising services. For instance, we may use platforms like Google and Meta (including Facebook and Instagram) to serve targeted advertisements on the Slango App and to advertise the Slango App to you on third-party sites. These platforms may use cookies or unique device identifiers, along with their own data, to display ads tailored to your visits to the Slango App. You can learn more about how these platforms use your information, and explore options to manage or opt out of certain data practices, by visiting their respective privacy policies.

6.         YOUR CONTROLS AND CHOICES

We provide you with the ability to exercise certain controls and choices regarding our collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Section 6 and in accordance with Section 11: 

  • You may choose whether to receive newsletters and other marketing and advertising messages from us. You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails or by contacting us directly at info@theslango.com. We may continue to send you communications regarding the Slango App, such as notices about administrative updates and changes to the Slango App, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms of Use.

  • You may opt-out of receiving targeted advertising from many advertising networks, data exchanges, marketing analytics and other service providers. 

  • You may request access to the Personal Information we hold about you, including any Personal Information that we amend or delete. 

  • You may set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

  • You can choose whether or not to allow the Slango App to collect and use real-time information about your electronic device’s location through the device's privacy settings. If you block the use of location information, some parts of the Slango App may become inaccessible or not function properly.

  • If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements, you can opt-out from specific email types by adjusting your user preferences in your account.

7.         SECURITY MEASURES

The security, integrity, and confidentiality of your information, including your Personal Information, is extremely important to us. We take all reasonable and appropriate measures to secure your information once we receive it, and to help prevent it from being disclosed to individuals who are not described in this Privacy Policy. Please be aware though that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and, therefore, we cannot guarantee that your information will remain secure in all circumstances, including, without limitation, in the event of a third-party cyber hack or attack, of which we have no control over.

8.         TRANSFER OF YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is processed at locations where we, or our employees, affiliates, service providers, or independent contractors are located, except as may be otherwise processed by relevant third-party platforms and the companies that operate them. This means that your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

 

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information to us represents your agreement to such transfer(s).

9.         CHILDREN

We are committed to protecting the online privacy of children and making the internet safe. The Slango App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect information, of any kind, from children under the age of 13. If we learn that any information has been collected inadvertently from a child under 13, we will destroy that information. 10.       ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION 

You can review and change your personal information by visiting and logging into your account on the Slango App.

You may also send us an email at info@theslango.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. Please note, we may not be able to delete your personal information except by also deleting your account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Generated Content from the Slango App, copies of your User Generated Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other users. 

11.       HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

If applicable when requesting to exercise your privacy rights, we may ask you to provide information, including Personal Information, to help us verify  your identity and process your opt-out request. We will only use Personal Information provided in connection with such requests solely to review and fulfill the request. If you choose not to provide this information, we may only be able to process your request to the extent we are able to identify you in our data systems. U.S. State Privacy Rights

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their Personal Information. States such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to:

  • Confirm whether we process their personal information.

  • Access and delete certain personal information.

  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, taking into account the information's nature processing purpose (excluding Iowa and Utah).

  • Data portability.

  • Opt-out of personal data processing for:

    • targeted advertising (excluding Iowa);

    • sales; or

    • profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (excluding Iowa and Utah).

  • Either limit (opt-out of) or require consent to process sensitive personal data.

Nevada Privacy Notice

Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain personal information sales. Residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to info@theslango.com. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements.

International Privacy Rights

If you are located in a jurisdiction governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), there may be data protection laws that give you certain rights with respect to your Personal Information, subject to any exemptions provided by such laws, including the rights to:

  • Request access to your Personal Information;

  • Request correction or deletion of your Personal Information;

  • Object to our use and processing of your Personal Information;

  • Withdraw consent for any activities for which you have consented; 

  • Request that we delete your Personal Information, at any time;

  • Request the transfer of your Personal Information to a third party. 

  • Request that we limit our use and processing of your Personal Information; and

  • Request portability of your Personal Information.

Although this Privacy Policy applies to users worldwide, the Slango App is operated from the United States. Our practices generally do not differ based on your location, but your rights and choices depend in part on the law(s) of the jurisdiction where you live. We make no claims that the Slango App or any of its content is accessible or appropriate outside of the United States. Access to and use of the Slango App may not be legal by certain persons or in certain countries. If you access and use the Slango App from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with the applicable local laws. You also have the right to make a complaint to a government supervisory authority. 12.       DATA RETENTION

We retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations. Retention periods vary based on the category of information and its intended use. We consider several factors when determining how long to retain information, including the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, and whether the intended purposes can be achieved without it. For example, certain internet activity may be deleted as soon as you exit the Slango App, while records related to purchases, conversations, complaints, and other contract-related interactions may be retained for several years to comply with legal obligations or enforce our agreements. We also retain Personal Information during an individual’s use of the Slango App and, after their use ends, as necessary to meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, defend claims, or honor user choices such as receiving marketing communications. Once Personal Information is no longer required, we will delete or deidentify it. If immediate deletion or deidentification is not possible, we will securely store and isolate it from further processing until it can be deleted or deidentified.

13.       CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. Your use of the Slango App, including any dispute concerning privacy, is subject to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, in our sole discretion, by posting the changes on this page. Please check the “Last Updated On” date at the top of this page to determine if the Privacy Policy has been modified since you last reviewed it. Your continued use of the Slango App, or any portion thereof, following posting of the updated Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the changes.

All changes shall be effective from the date of publication unless otherwise provided in the notification.
